It shouldn't be this hard.....

To take a pattern for a man's tie and make it smaller for a boy's tie. :) That is what I am making my son for christmas. As soon as I figure it out, I will post. But since there arent that many cute boy tie patterns I might just make a pattern myself. I need some originals to post on here anyway so other people can try them out :) Have a great night everyone! Back to the tie.

Almost a month already?

Since I last posted? Wow I am behind. Well good news is- after working on it for 8 months- I finally finished Lexi's blanket. She is my youngest niece and I have been trying to finish this blanket since 1 month before she was born. A little ambitious, yes. But I still finished it and just in time for christmas. I will be posting pictures as soon as I wrestle the camera away from dad.

On another note- I also finished my friends prezzie but I wont post those pics until after christmas, since she reads this :) Yes you M.M. Love ya!

I opened my own webbie for my items that I am hoping to sell as jobs are far and in between around here. The website is

handmadeknit.weebly.com

It needs more work done, but you get the gist of it. Well off to bed since I am tired and possible getting hungry again?? How is that possible? I mean we ate, and ate and ate. Including dessert. Well midnight snacks are always good. Expecially if its a turkey sandwich or ice cream and pie.

Oh one more thing- how many crazy people are going shopping in a few hours?? Anyone? Nope? Oh good, you are normal. My sis-in-law said the best thing today- she said that she would rather save her sleep than save on items. I love it!

Have a great Thanksgiving and be safe!

The beginning

I have decided to take each day and post something about myself. Vain, I know, but arent most blogs if not all a little vain?

I am 27 years old.

Ok I am done. :) Just kidding.

I was born in May to parents that could not take care of me or my siblings. To date- I have an older half sister, an older half brother, and a younger half sister. Notice the word HALF in all of those. Ya. My mom got around. I was adopted into a wonderful family and we kept in contact with my older half sister, Laura, for a long time. That is until I decided to look for my little half sister and we get in contact with our egg donor (birth mother). Every since then Laura has been talking to her and only her. She hasnt even talked to her mother who bothered to adopt her and take care of her. Time for a back story.....

When I was a baby, There was Billy, (older half brother), Laura and myself. Our egg donor wasn't around. My sister, who is only 4 years older than me, tryed to take care of me by giving me bottles. My brother was almost catatonic. There were cockroaches everywhere in our house. Feces all over, and a loaded shotgun in the corner of our living room. The only reason we survived was due to a teenager babysittter who happened to be watching us. Although she thought she was only watching my sister and myself, however, she heard a noise in the back room and walked in and saw Billy. He was in a bed, where it was so soaked with urine that the mattress was bending out the bottom of the bed. We are lucky he didn't die. She called her mother, who called social services. Now in 1984- the rules were a little more lenient than they are now. Nowadays if cps was called on you, and conditions were that bad, children are taken away immediatly. Back then, there were home visits and foster homes back and forth. I have th court records that say when the social workers came to the house, they had to put rubber bands on their pants and sleeves of their shirt before walking into the house due to the cockroaches.

After being placed in numerous foster homes, I was placed with my family when I was 6 months old. When they came to pick me up for CPS, I was wearing 0-3 month old clothing. I couldnt roll over, sit up or hold my own bottle. I had no muscle mass. I wish that they had taken a picture of this so that I knew how small and skinny I was.

I was in and out of foster care until I was 5, where the judge finally made the egg donor choose. The deal they made was if she gave up parental rights to Billy, Laura, and myself, she could keep Lizzie (my little half sister). She did and I was able to be adopted to my wonderful family.

My mom kept in contact with Laura's mom and we used to see them every year. When Laura turned 18 or so, she got married and we saw her less.

Billy found us after 15 years or so, after his mom searched through old records and found our address of where we have lived since I came along. I talk to him every so often.

When I was about 21, I knew my little sister was 18 and I could search for her. I knew that after the egg donor married and divorced my dad, that she married Lizzie's dad. All I had to go on was her first name and the egg donor's name. (I have my original birth certificate) So I searched through clark county's marriage certificates and found Lizzie's last name. Upon finding out her last name and her dad's name, I found an address. I wrote a ltter to her dad, just in case she didnt know, and very very soon after they recieved the letter, she called me.

It was great! I love being an older sister to her, even though she doesnt need it, and today she is a happily married women with 2 kids and a husband in Idaho. I recently saw all of them at the ren faire that was held in town. By the way, I managed to find her through the free websites online. :)

Wow sorry to ramble on, although it felt good to get itout in the open. Don't worry, tomorrow there will be more. Like my 1st marriage. Until then, good night.

work work

Le sigh. I am a delivery driver for a company that goes around picking up food from restaurants and delivers it to customers home. Now granted I went to school for medical assistant, was able to find a job right out of school but then laid off a year later. So I have been trying to find another job but no luck as I'm not bilingual. So I deliver food. Which isn't bad. I actually enjoy it most days. Good for me is that we have been busy. Bad is that i work weird hours and home-school my 7 year old, so the last couple days I haven't gotten any knitting done. Unless its as 1am :) Here are a couple pictures of some washcloths I made my mom for Christmas.
